Background: Coach Wilfong is the proud father of Tre (9) a Wrestler in his first year at Core-Wrestling and Ava (5).  He went to High School at East Wilkes and was a standout Scholar-Athlete.  After receiving an Academic Scholarship to the University of North Carolina his passion for wrestling led him to work out and ‘attempt to wrestle’ with the then Top-20 Ranked Wrestling team.  Soon realizing he did not have a strong enough foundation to compete at such a high level he focused on becoming a better student of the Sport in order to help Youth Wrestlers understand the pre-cursors of success in Wrestling.  In his spare time Coach Wilfong enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid Golfer and Chess Player.
